The Rainbow Bridge

Honor the pets who’ve left paw prints on your heart. The Rainbow Bridge, located at our PUPStop property in Baker, Florida, officially opened on Memorial Day 2025 and is now open to the public—day or night, no appointment needed.

Whether you’re remembering a beloved companion or simply want to reflect, you’re welcome to visit. Bring a collar and tag to hang in their memory. Sprinkle ashes beneath the bridge. Take a quiet moment to remember the joy they brought into your life.

“A pet will give you some of the best days of your life… and one of the worst.”

This space was created with love—for healing, remembering, and celebrating the bond that never fades.

The BACKGROUND

In fall of 2023, Hurricane Helene swept through the southeast, wreaking havoc and devastation, especially in areas not accustomed to major hurricane damage. One of these areas was the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge Park in North Carolina, which was the home of a well-loved Rainbow Bridge. The Lake Lure Park Bridge had seen thousands of visitors who came to hang their pets’ collars and other mementoes on the railings of the Bridge.

Sadly, in one day and without notice, the bridge was swept away and most of the memorials lost forever. While this original bridge is being rebuilt (yay!), it gave us the idea to create our own on the property of The PUPStop in Baker. And thus… the mostly-volunteer project began.
