What’s Going On at the “Old Mickey’s?”

North Okaloosa locals know the place as “Mickey’s Pit Stop” with a long history of serving the Baker, Florida community as a restaurant, general store and even a gas station at one point. However, in 2019 the establishment closed its doors and has been vacant ever since.
Well, that is about to change! On September 1st, 2023, Saving with Soul Pet Rescue unlocked those those doors and will be transforming this Baker landmark into a fun spot for dog-loving locals and travelers alike!
While The Pup Stop will be a work in progress for a while, the plan is to offer:
- A dog adoption center, featuring mostly small dogs, where potential adopters can interact with the dogs in a comfortable, casual environment!
- Home-style dog boarding primarily for small dogs, in a home-like atmosphere with loving, personal attention!
- Clean bathrooms, for both humans and dogs alike!
- Outside dog-friendly space, beautifully shaded, for travelers (and locals!) to take a quick break on their way to or from our glorious beaches!
- A donation-based store, stocked with fun pet-themed items; your donations help fund our rescue activities!
And best of all… if the stars align, a low-cost spay/neuter clinic!!!
